Meet Your Planner
Born and raised in Michigan, I've found a home in vibrant San Francisco after transitioning from my role as a traveling registered nurse to a passionate event planner. While nursing fulfilled my urge to help others and explore the intricacies of the human body, my love for creative expression never faded. While studying for my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Eastern Michigan University, I spent all my free time coordinating events for EMU’s Orientation Program, selling my own art work, and hosting art workshops for my local community.
With experience in drawing and painting, my artistic instincts now shine through event planning and design. Raised by a father who always saw cause for celebration in every moment, I quickly learned that no milestone is too small for festivity. Life is more fun when you find a reason to celebrate. My emphasis on detail, ability to thrive under pressure, and upbeat attitude help define my methods. My ultimate goal is to approach each event with a unique touch while honoring my client's vision.
When I am not event planning, you’ll find me hiking, soaking up the SF culture, scouting out new coffee spots, and getting into any art project I can.
Sidney Alexis Phan
The name "Squid" was a nickname I was given in childhood; a name that I never integrated into my identity until now. What started as a silly rhyme for “Sid”, became a symbol that represents something that has always been in my life, just waiting to be embraced, much like event planning. Choosing to go with the name Squid Inc. Social Events & Design helped me celebrate the spirit of being flexible and one-of-a-kind, traits that shape both my nickname and my business today.
